A player must beat the machine with a winning hand in order to win. Almost all video poker machines are coin operated.  You can bet between one and five coins.  The amount of the winnings will depend on the amount you decided to wager.  The machine shows the credits.  Serious gamblers always play the maximum wager.

The machine deals you five cards when you have chosen the amount of wager. You have the option of saving or getting rid of the cards that you don’t like. You keep the good cards and discard the bad ones.
